The case of a Rolla Bay West man charged with assaulting a 14-year-old girl has been adjourned to Jan. 17.

Aaron Clifford Townshend will continue to be remanded in custody awaiting the court date for election.

His lawyer noted a “thick disclosure’’ by the Crown left him in need of an adjournment.

Townshend faces several charges, including assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and pointing a firearm.

The charges resulted from Kings District RCMP responding to a complaint on Dec. 7 in Rollo Bay West.

Officers found the 14-year-old girl with serious facial injuries. She was transported to Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague by Island EMS.
