P.E.I. announces one new case of COVID-19

P.E.I.’s chief public health officer Heather Morrison announced one new case of COVID-19 in P.E.I. on Thursday.

The case is related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada. The individual is a man in his 50s, who first tested negative but later tested positive.

An e-mailed statement said the man is currently self-isolating but has no symptoms. Public health officials have completed contact tracing and said there are no public exposure locations related to the case.

P.E.I. currently has 8 active cases of COVID-19. There have been 8 new cases since the beginning of 2021.

There have been a total of 104 positive cases of the virus in P.E.I. since the beginning of the pandemic.
