Ontario man caught driving drunk in Charlottetown charged

A 65-year-old woman, who police say was drunk, lost control of her vehicle and struck three parked vehicles in Charlottetown Thursday morning.

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 27-year-old Ontario man has been charged after being caught driving while impaired in Charlottetown.

At 1:55 a.m. on Feb. 3 while on patrol on Kent Street, Charlottetown police met a vehicle driving in the wrong direction.

A vehicle stop ensued, and the driver showed signs of impairment by alcohol.

The man was arrested and subsequently charged with impaired driving and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
