Number of Charlottetown parking tickets written drops in October

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Parking commissionaires in downtown Charlottetown wrote 2,673 tickets in October.

That’s down compared to the 2,824 they issued in the same month in 2018.

So far this year, commissionaires have issued 27,208 parking tickets compared to the 26,335 written in the same month a year ago.

The number of nuisance bylaw tickets issued jumped in October 2019 to 91 compared to the 67 written for the same month a year ago. A total of 898 nuisance bylaw tickets have been issued this year so far, up from 809 during the same time period in 2018.

And, the number of dog bylaw tickets issued was 18 in October, the same amount written in October of 2018. A total of 264 dog bylaw tickets have been written up to the end of October this year compared to 344 to the same time period a year ago.
