NORTH RIVER, P.E.I. — Most of the calls firefighters in Cornwall received in April were due to motor vehicle accidents.
A rundown provided to Cornwall council showed that, during the month, four of the department’s seven calls in the town were for motor vehicle accidents.
The department also received single calls for medical first response, a smoke alarm and an alarm malfunction.
RCMP in Cornwall also responded to nine motor vehicle collisions, with three of them having reportable damage.
Six of those collisions occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway, while there was one collision each on Route 248, Kingston Road and Warren Grove Road.
In addition, RCMP responded to 16 traffic and four impaired driving complaints. Police also issued 11 summary offence tickets and three warnings.
