STRATFORD, P.E.I. — A variety of upcoming highlights were announced during Stratford town council's approval of the 2020-21 budget, which was presented via a livestream on March 30.

For starters, a natural playground is planned for Fullerton's Creek Conservation Park, as is a washroom facility. Funding for the playgrounds at Glen Stewart and Stratford Elementary Schools is also being allocated.

To ensure the town's outdoors are maintained, Stratford is looking to hire an environmental co-ordinator to focus on the town's long-term sustainability. As well, casual maintence staff will be hired to help maintain Stratford's trails and sports fields in the summer and its rinks in the winter.

Town council is also setting aside money to update staff computer software to make it uniform. In part, because of this, residents will be able sign up to pay their town dues through an online billing module – the expected start date being this April.
