GREEN MEADOWS, P.E.I. - A 34-year-old man from the Morell area was taken into custody Monday for care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired.
On Dec. 10, Kings District RCMP responded to a complaint in Green Meadows where a man, who was believed to be impaired by alcohol, had just driven into the driveway of the home.
A person from the residence approached the running vehicle where they noticed the man passed out behind the wheel.
The resident took the keys from the ignition and returned to the home to call 911.
Officers arrived at the scene, and the man was taken to the RCMP Montague office where he refused to provide adequate breath samples.
He was held in custody and later released when it was safe to do so, although his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
The man is scheduled to appear in Georgetown provincial court in January.
