MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — The emergency department, along with laboratory and X-ray services at Kings County Memorial Hospital will be closed Thursday.
Health P.E.I. said the closure is needed to accommodate work related to the renovations occurring at KCMH to improve patient privacy and staff safety.
Renovations include work to the laboratory and front entrance.
The lab and X-ray services will close as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and the emergency department will close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The lab and X-ray services and the emergency department will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.
As a result of the scheduled closure, there will be walk-in clinics at the Montague Health Centre on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the following times:
- 9-11 a.m.
- 1-3 p.m.
- 5-7 p.m.
Anyone with health concerns or who needs immediate health information can call 811 to speak to an experienced registered nurse for advice on the best course of action. In case of a medical emergency, call 911.
