ALEXANDRA, P.E.I. – The Green Party of P.E.I. has nominated Michele Beaton as the candidate in District 5 – Mermaid-Stratford.
Family-oriented and dedicated to her community, Beaton believes in an open and honest approach to politics and brings her excellent listening skills to the task at hand.
Beaton wants to promote respect, collaboration and responsible public engagement as a way forward and understands the realities of today’s political climate.
Born and raised in Alexandra, Beaton values the strong resilient community around her. Home to a rich agricultural area, Alexandra is a mix of rural and suburban residents and business owners.
“Helping young people have a better understanding of where their food comes from can be a challenge,” said Beaton. “This is something I feel strongly about and would like to find creative ways to help P.E.I.’s children know more about where their food is grown and how its grown.”
Beaton has a daughter attending school in Stratford and has firsthand experience about the current education system and looks forward to hearing what people in District 5 think about the education system in P.E.I.
