CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — An Island man who left P.E.I. despite a court order limiting his travel and then couldn’t get back in the province was sentenced recently to 75 days in jail.
Timothy John Chandler, 39, appeared before Judge Jeff Lantz in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching an undertaking.
Crown attorney Gerald Quinn told the court Chandler went to New Brunswick despite being on an undertaking with a condition he not leave P.E.I. The travel took place before the Island withdrew from the Atlantic bubble, however anyone travelling to P.E.I. still had to go through screening at the border.
Quinn said Chandler was denied entry back into P.E.I. because he didn’t have ID.
Chandler also breached an undertaking by not reporting to police as required.
