A 26-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving while under the influence of drugs.

Around midnight on Oct. 10, police were informed of the incident and were able to locate the driver.

The accused was found behind the wheel of his vehicle parked with keys in the ignition.

The driver failed a Standard Field Sobriety Test and was subsequently arrested and transported to the Maypoint RCMP detachment for a Drug Recognition Evaluation to evaluate if the driver's ability to drive the vehicle was impaired by a drug.

The man failed the evaluation and was charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle. He was released from custody and will appear in Georgetown provincial court at a later date.
