CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The arterial highway in Charlottetown continues to be a prime spot to find motorists violating the posted speeding regulations.
Officers with Charlottetown Police Services issued nine tickets to drivers in November on the highway between Brackley Point Road and St. Peters Road, making it the hotspot for the month.
But, only barely.
Officers were also busy pulling over violators on Lower Malpeque Road, where eight fines were handed out.
Upton Road was next with six speeding tickets followed by Brackley Point Road and Fourth Street, which connects the West Royalty Industrial Park and the arterial highway, with five each.
Police also try to keep an eye on the school zones in the city at this time of year.
Four speeding tickets were handed out on North River Road by the Simmons Sport Centre. That’s a 30 km/h school zone (Queen Charlotte Intermediate School) where fines tend to be hefty.
One surprise on the list was the lack of tickets issued along University Avenue, which always tends to top the monthly speeding lists.
Only one speeding ticket was issued and it took place near Enman Crescent, one of the entrances to Charlottetown Rural High School.
