Premier Wade MacLauchlan released the Liberal party’s full platform, as well as a promise to support the Island’s arts and culture sector Wednesday.
MacLauchlan stated the platform is focused on people, prosperity and engagement.
“I am very optimistic about our future and all of the things that we will achieve by working together,” he said in a news release.
A full copy of the platform can be obtained at the Liberal’s website, www.liberalpei.ca.
He also announced that a Liberal government will place a strategic emphasis on the Island’s arts and culture sector.
“We will prepare a 10-year strategy to build a framework for growth and develop specific programs and policies to enhance the already vibrant cultural sector in our province,” he said in the relase.
“For the first time ever P.E.I. will have a comprehensive long-term plan for this sector.”
A Liberal government would support training and new product development initiatives through an Island Creativity Fund.
If elected, a Liberal government would implement “the most aggressive business prospecting plan ever,” the release said, branded as Sales Force P.E.I., with a link to a new entrepreneurship strategy for the province of P.E.I.
“Our cultural sector defines who we are as a people and the richness and diversity of what we have to offer in Prince Edward Island is truly unique,” said MacLauchlan.
