CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Upgrading the Fitzroy Street Parkade’s lighting to LED has cut energy use and greenhouse gas emissions by 65 per cent.

While the project cost $169,000, based on current data the expected annual savings will be $33,000. There is a five-year payback on this project.

Meanwhile, corporate emissions across the city operations are estimated at 7,266 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2017, about the same as it was in 2016.
