CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - A 49-year-old Kingston, P.E.I., man faces charges after police arrested him for breaking into a Maritime Electric substation.

Charlottetown police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in West Royalty at 9:15 Thursday morning.

The investigation led officers to the substation on Sherwood Road, where they discovered the facility had been broken into.

The suspect was arrested and has been charged with break and enter, failing to comply with an undertaking and breach of probation.

The man also had outstanding warrants at the time of arrest.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
