The Jack Frost Winterfest will take advantage of the long weekend with a special incentive for Islanders on Islander Day.

Island residents can access the Eastlink Snow Kingdom for $5 on Monday, as long as they bring proof their home is P.E.I.

Those that call Charlottetown home are in for an extra sweet treat.

The first 1,000 Charlottetown residents who show proof of where they live will access the snow kingdom site for free.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer free admission to the Outdoor Snow Kingdom for Charlottetown residents as part of our Islander Day celebrations,” said Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown. “Islander Day is a mid-winter holiday and celebrating at the Jack Frost Winterfest is one of the many great ways for people to get outside and have some fun together.”

To experience all the Jack Frost Winterfest has to offer, including the Indoor Playland and Live Family Stage featuring the Imagination Movers, purchase a Sunday day pass for $25 ($90 for a family of 4) at either of the on-site box offices located at Eastlink Centre Charlottetown and the Charlottetown Events Grounds.

Events on Saturday for the festival were cancelled due to weather.

The 2019 Jack Frost Winterfest presented by Island Coastal taking place now until Feb. 18.
