The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre’s human papilloma virus (HPV) awareness campaign will host presentations in Summerside, Three Rivers and Charlottetown later this month.

At least 75 per cent of Canadians will have at least one HPV infection in their lifetime. HPV has been linked to cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina, penis, anus, mouth and throat.

Anyone who has ever been sexually active is at risk for HPV and its complications. However, a vaccine is the best form of protection.

The public information session will take place at the following locations: Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m., at the Montague Rotary Library, Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre; Nov. 25, 2 p.m., in Summerside, Room 2 at Credit Union Place; Nov. 26, 6 p.m., in Charlottetown in Room 207 of Murphy’s Pharmacy Community Centre.
