A 53-year-old Montague man who left the scene of an accident Friday morning was arrested and charged.
At 7:35 a.m. on Feb. 14, Stratford RCMP received a complaint of collision in which one of the drivers left the scene of the collision without providing his documentation to the other driver.
The driver whose vehicle was struck was able to provide the plate of the suspect vehicle to police.
Fewer than two hours later, just before 9 a.m., Kings District RCMP located the travelling vehicle in Montague.
The driver was arrested for driving while prohibited (from previous impaired driving offences) and impaired operation when stopped today.
The man was transported to the Montague RCMP detachment and provided breath samples over twice the legal limit.
He is currently being held at the Montague detachment, pending his release, and the vehicle has been impounded for six months under the Highway Traffic Act.
