CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown police issued 75 fines to drivers in August for failing to observe the rules of the road — double the amount from the month before.
Charlottetown Police Services classifies the tickets as moving violations of a non-speeding nature, which could mean anything from failing to stop at a stop sign to running a red light.
For comparison’s sake, police issued 37 tickets in July.
The hotspot in August was the Capital Drive/North River Road intersection where 11 fines were issued. Next on the list was the Brackley Point Road/Pine Drive intersection where four tickets were issued. That was followed by Kent and Prince streets where three fines were handed out.
There were numerous locations across the municipality where tickets were issued. For the full list, click on this story at www.theguardian.pe.ca.
