A heat warning remains in effect across Prince Edward Island and the Maritimes today, with humidex values expected to reach 35.

A very warm and humid airmass will remain over the Maritimes over the next few days.

Inland high temperatures are expected to reach near 29 degrees Celsius for both today and Thursday, however humidex values near 33 degrees today will likely reach 35 degrees on Thursday. Cooler conditions can be expected for areas near the coast.

Temperatures are expected to return to seasonal normals for the weekend.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

Shade yourself with an umbrella or a wide-brimmed hat.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
