CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Colonel Gray High School is increasing security of the school’s website after it was hacked this week, but it is not involving the police, said principal Dominque Lecours.
After receiving some phone calls, staff realized what happened and took the site down the evening of April 16.
When Lecours was contacted by the Guardian the website was still down, but a team was working to fix it as soon as possible, she said.
“We took some measures to have the problem rectified and they’re still working on making sure it’s cleaned up before it goes back online.”
The hack made all the links on the website redirect to a Viagra ad, an IB student at the school told the Guardian.
The school is treating it as a minor incident, said Lecours.
“There will be some increased security (for the website), that’s all.”
