CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Mike Gillis is seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 10 – Charlottetown-Winsloe in the next provincial election.
The District 10 – Charlottetown-Winsloe PC nomination convention is today at the St. Peter’s church hall, 11 All Souls Lane, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“I have an understanding of the important issues facing our district,” said Gillis. “My career in IT and workforce development give me the skills to effectively address the issues and concerns of the people of District 10 Charlottetown-Winsloe as their MLA in a new Dennis King PC government.”
Gillis is a career development practitioner with extensive experience helping youth, newcomers, mature workers, persons with disabilities and people in career transition to explore and realize their career goals.
Previously, he was the executive director of the IT Association of P.E.I. and he has volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, the P.E.I. Council of People with Disabilities, the P.E.I. Career Development Association, minor hockey and soccer and St. Pius X Church.
A graduate of UPEI, Gillis and his spouse, Mary Anne, are the parents of three and have lived in Sherwood for the past 27 years. Gillis previously ran as a PC candidate for the former district of Charlottetown-Sherwood in the 2011 and 2015 provincial elections.
