Gas prices on P.E.I. drop another seven cents March 20

Gas stations in the west end haven’t made any major decreases in their gas prices to match the cheaper prices at Costco Wholesale in the Galway neighbourhood of St. John’s. One independent owner says his station tries to compete by offering other items and services.

The cost of gasoline has dropped again.

The price at the pumps at self-serve outlets this morning across Prince Edward Island ranges from 75.2 to 76.4 cpl – a seven-cent drop, according to the latest scheduled pricing adjustment provided by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.

Diesel has decreased by 5.0 cpl with the cost now ranging from 92.5 to 93.6 cpl.

In addition, the price of furnace oil has decreased by 5.0 cpl. The maximum price for furnace oil is 66.7 cpl.

The prices went into effect at 12:01 a.m. today.

The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment is March 27.
