Temperatures are expected to drop near or below the freezing mark overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.

As a result, Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for the Island.

Frost will develop under clear skies and light winds overnight Monday and into Tuesday morning as temperatures drop near or below the freezing mark.

Temperatures will rebound for Tuesday night into Wednesday as southerly winds and rain with an approaching low-pressure system move into the Maritimes.

Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
