Feast and Frolic kicks off P.E.I. International Shellfish Festival

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Fall Flavours largest signature event, Feast and Frolic, takes place today at the Charlottetown Event Grounds.

It’s the kickoff to the P.E.I. International Shellfish Festival.

Brad Smith will be co-hosting the event alongside chef Lynn Crawford. Smith was born and raised in Hudson, Que., and enjoyed seven years as a professional football player before starting his career as a professional television host, personality and actor.

Smith is known as the host of Food Network Canada’s “Chopped Canada’’, “Chopped Canada Junior’’, “Chopped Canada Teen’’ and was lead on “Bachelor Canada’’.

The evening begins with a roving reception where P.E.I. chefs and producers will produce a variety of chowders and the World’s Greatest Oyster Bar featuring more than 20 different varieties of fresh P.E.I. oysters with tasting notes shared by local growers and champion shuckers.

The feast will be prepared and served tableside by Garland Canada International Chef Challenge competitors and led by P.E.I.’s chef of the year, Irwin MacKinnon.

There will be P.E.I. lobster alongside certified Island beef and seasonally-inspired sides.
