CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown police were busy enforcing the rules of the road in May.

A total of 19 tickets were handed out under the Highway Traffic Act (moving violations/non-speeding) on University Avenue, between Enman Crescent and Summer Street.

These violations include things like failure to stop at stop signs or red lights.

Of those 19 tickets, eight of them were handed out where the avenue intersects Kirkwood Drive.

Walthen Drive and Summer Street was another hotspot. Police issued five tickets in May.

Police also issued four tickets for Highway Traffic Act violations at Orlebar and Gerald streets and another four tickets at Pine Drive and Maple Avenue.
