STRATFORD, P.E.I. — While the Town of Stratford's rise in housing developments may not seem like a bad problem to have, it's resulted in an issue that the town is addressing.

Coun. Jill Burridge spoke to the matter during a Stratford council meeting on Jan. 13.

"Basically, what's happening is that there's so much development, final grading of sites are starting to infill a little bit more," she said. "That final grading between houses, especially when you're on a hill, is getting a little more difficult when you're fitting those last couple houses in."

The town's planning staff are finding that the ground isn't always as level as anticipated during the final grade. So, they're going to start requiring a post-construction grading plan from developers, Burridge said.

"(Because) there's a correction there that has to happen."
