Delays mean work will continue on Hillsborough Bridge project during winter months

Construction on the active transportation path is making progress on the Hillsborough Bridge in Charlottetown as well as the two approaches to the structure. A spokeswoman with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Department said Tuesday work will continue over the winter months. However, the completion of the path likely won’t be completed until mid-June after asphalt plants open up again. The spokeswoman added that due to some scheduling- and material delivery-related issues, as well as some unknown construction-related issues, the project won’t be completed this month. No one from the department would comment on how long the bridge will be restricted to three lanes of traffic.
