A brand of cheese marketed as being “dairy free” is being recalled across Canada because it contains undeclared milk.

The recall is for Emborg brand Pizza Style Dairy Free Shreds. The recall is in place for every Canadian province except Quebec and affects products in 200 gram size bags with a best before date of Feb. 10, 2019.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said those with a milk allergy should not consume the product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

The recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. The CFIA said there was one reported reaction associated with the consumption of the product.

Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
