Bloyce Thompson is seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 8, Stanhope-Marshfield.
Thompson, a third-generation dairy farmer, is the owner and operator of the family farm Eastside Holsteins, which also sells dairy cattle breeding stock to local, national and international markets.
He is a graduate of Charlottetown Rural High School and Dalhousie Agricultural College.
“Operating a dairy farm and developing business opportunities around the world requires a commitment to quality and building relationships based on honesty, fairness and hard work,’’ Thompson said. “I hope to put the skills I have gained from that experience to work for the residents of Stanhope-Marshfield and P.E.I.’’
Thompson is also active as a coach in the Sherwood-Parkdale Minor Baseball Association, served as vice-president of Old Home Week and as a board member of the Dairy Farmers of P.E.I. He serves as an elder in the York-Covehead United pastoral charge.
Thompson and his wife, Terri, are the parents of three children, Alyson, Jenell and Taylor.
Also seeking the PC nomination in District 8 is Darren Creamer, who announced his intention in June 2018.
