CORNWALL, P.E.I. - Cornwall is searching for an additional water source to tap into when need arises down the road for this growing town.
Council approved a motion Wednesday to spend $152,650 to purchase land in a wooded area for hydrogeological testing.
Testing is slated to begin in the fall.
“We have no shortage of water, but a smart council will not allow water to run out,’’ said Coun. Irene Dawson, who chairs the utility committee. “We need to be aware of the future needs of the town.’’
Dawson added council hopes the site proves to a sufficient well field able to “produce the amount of water we want.”
