P.E.I. contractors get snow removal jobs for community rinks

Lea MacDonald Construction Ltd. and Birt & MacKay Backhoe Services Ltd. will handle snow removal duties for two of Charlottetown’s community rinks.

City council approved the resolution at its November public meeting.

Lea MacDonald will take care of things at Simmons Sports Centre for $3,851.35 (HST included) while Birt & MacKay will handle the parking lot at Cody Banks Arena for $5,700 (HST included). They were the lowest bids received in both cases.

Other companies that bid for Cody Banks included David Beer ($22,965), Earthform Inc. ($8,050), Label Construction ($12,329.96), Landmark ($5,980), Twin’s Snow ($6,670), WM&M ($6,325), A&M Snow Removal ($7,820) and Lea MacDonald ($7,235).

Other bids for Simmons included David Beer ($22,965), Earthform ($9,200), Label Construction ($12,329), Landmark ($5,980) and WM&M ($6,842.50).
