Parks Canada is upgrading the Grahams Lane entrance to Cavendish Beach.
Visitors entering the park via Grahams Lane will be directed to a mobile gate on Hammies Lane at Cavendish Beach to purchase an entrance pass. This detour will remain in effect until the work is completed later in July.
Work began on the entrance infrastructure last fall to replace the two kiosks and widen the entrance lane. Overhead LED signage is also being installed.
There have been unforeseen delays and scheduling challenges as the construction industry responds to the high volume of work common at this time of year. Parks Canada said every effort is being made to get the work done soon to minimize disruptions for visitors.
Safety is a top priority for Parks Canada. As such, visitors are advised to exercise caution, respect all on-site signage and closures, and to follow instructions from on-site Parks Canada’s staff or contractors.
This work is part of Parks Canada’s $3 billion investment, to support infrastructure work to heritage, visitor, waterway, and highway assets located within national historic sites, national parks, and national marine conservation areas across Canada.
Parks Canada will continue to provide updates on this project as work progresses. For more information, please contact P.E.I. National Park at 902-672-6350, or by email at [email protected].
