NORTH WILTSHIRE, P.E.I. — Christina Smith is bringing some homemade precaution to work to protect customers and staff.
Smith, who has been working at Clow’s Red and White in North Wiltshire for the past few years, decided to make masks for customers to wear if they choose.
There is no charge. Customers are simply given the option of taking a mask from a basket just inside the store that sits on a table next to hand sanitizer.
Smith, 27 made about 50 masks in just four days this week with each one put together at home out of two pieces of cotton and one piece of flannel.
Each mask comes with instructions for proper use to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19 strain).
“Customers are very appreciative, for sure … people are definitely taking them," says Smith.
“We’re really doing our best here keeping everything clean, constantly spraying with sanitizer … we’re just trying our best."
Plenty of deliveries are being made as well helping reduce traffic in the store.
