CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The City of Charlottetown has spent close to $1 million on a new custom triple combination fire engine.

A purchase and sale agreement has been signed with Techno Feu Inc. in the amount of $971,475.

The new fire truck will replace the 1989 Ford fire engine (Engine 5).

The city received five submissions from a request for proposals that went out on Dec. 3, 2018.

The prices the city received ranged from $902,531 to more than $1 million. The price the city paid exceeds the previously budgeted amount of $905,625 but the Techno truck was deemed the best among the bids.
