CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — All playground structures located at city-owned parks and recreation facilities in Charlottetown will be closed as of 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, and will remain closed until further notice.

Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19 strain), the city has made this decision to ensure social distancing protocol is followed, as per the recommendations from the P.E.I. Chief Public Health Office.

Signage will be installed at city-owned playgrounds over the next few days.

Parks, trails and boardwalks will remain open, but the public is reminded to maintain social distancing.

Physical activity is encouraged even while practicing social distancing or self-isolation.

Local organizations, like Go!PEI, are offering free online activity programs for all fitness levels. Find out more at Facebook.com/goPEI.ca.
