A 23-year-old Charlottetown woman has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Route 3 near the Glencoe Road Monday morning.
The RCMP, along with the Vernon River Fire Department, was called to the scene just after 7 a.m. on May 25.
One vehicle left the highway as a result of the collision into an embankment of a ditch.
The driver had to be extracted from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. She was transported to the QEH with life-threatening injuries. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The sole occupant of the second vehicle, an 18-year-old man from the Three Rivers area, was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.
The investigation into this collision is in the early stages and continues.
