CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 60-year-old Charlottetown woman faces charges after police responded to a call Tuesday night.

On April 7 at 9:10 p.m., Charlottetown police responded to a disturbance on Rochford Street where a taxi driver reported that an intoxicated passenger became aggressive, assaulted him and caused damage to his hand-held payment terminal.

Police arrested the woman and charged her with assault and mischief under $5,000.

She spent the night in jail and was released Wednesday morning with conditions.

The accused will appear in provincial court at a later date.
