Charlottetown traffic advisory for Thursday, Sept. 13

Drivers in the Charlottetown area today be advised that road work may cause closures or delays in traffic.

Chestnut Street between University Avenue and Queen Street will be closed for the day to allow the Water and Sewer Utility Department to install water and sprinkler services. The sidewalks in the construction area will be closed on the north side only.

Sherwood Road between Mount Edward Road and Brackley Point Road will be reduced to one lane alternating traffic for the day for paving. Traffic control personnel will be onsite and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

Delays can be expected on Chappell Court and Victoria Street, between Spring Street and Spring Park Road, as milling will take place.
Catch basin work taking place on St. Peters Road between Valdane Avenue and Ralden Avenue will continue for the remainder of the week and motorist should expect delays in this area.

Sidewalk work will also take place on Victoria Street between Spring Park Road and Spring Street, on Richmond Street between Pownal Street and Queen Street, and on and North Queen Elizabeth Drive between North River Road and Spruce Street.

Curbing work will continue on Westridge Crescent between Glenthorn Avenue and Patterson Drive, and may cause minor delays for traffic in the area.

The right turning lane on Capital Drive onto North River Road will be closed for the week to allow for storm sewer pipe installation. Traffic control personnel will be onsite, as traffic will still be permitted to make a right hand turn at this intersection, through the through lane on Capital Drive. It is anticipated that traffic will experience some delays as a result of this work. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

Construction for the Water and Sewer Utility Infrastructure Renewal program will continue with traffic impacts along Belvedere Avenue this week. It’s anticipated that traffic will experience some delays as a result of this work. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct motorists. Sidewalks in the area may be impacted during this work. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
