A traffic advisory has been issued with the following impacts expected for Friday, May 22:

  • Line and crosswalk painting will take place between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. at the intersection of University Avenue, Young and Reserve streets. Single lane closures and minor delays should be expected, but traffic flow should be maintained.
  • Utility work is taking place on the Trans Canada Arterial Highway (bypass), between Malpeque and Lower Malpeque roads. From May 18 – 22, an altered center line and a shortened merge lane heading outbound will be in place. Minor delays in this area should be expected.
  • Kent Street between Great George and Prince streets will be reduced to one lane traffic. Sidewalks within the construction area are also impacted and pedestrians are asked to use caution or seek alternate routes. This closure is for construction related to the Fitzroy Parkade expansion. At this time, the parkade is closed until further notice. This lane closure will remain in effect until the completion of the project, which is anticipated to be the end of July.
  • Sidewalk work is scheduled to take place in the following areas (for the week of May 19 – 22): Queen Street between Nassau Street and Emerald Drive; Pownal Street between Kent and Grafton streets; and All Souls Lane between Pownal and Rochford streets.
