CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Tourists and newcomers may not be aware that 100 per cent Charlottetown’s tap water is naturally filtered groundwater.

To promote their liquid asset, the City of Charlottetown has launched the Drink Local campaign to educate everyone that city water is safe to drink - straight from the tap.

The city has water refill stations at several locations including Connaught Square, Orlebar Park and Hillsborough Dog Park, as well as a portable refill station that it takes to special events.

City staff has been working with the P.E.I. Association for Newcomers to Canada to promote the Drink Local campaign with newcomers.
