CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The City of Charlottetown is giving CBCL Ltd. an extra $172,000 to complete the engineering design and construction oversight work for the city’s pollution control plant on Riverside Drive.

According to the Water and Sewer Utility, the scope of the work has changed from the initial proposal request and response. While there were efforts made to try to stay within the original budget there is an anticipated need for an increase to the engineering budget.

CBCL Ltd., an engineering and environmental design and consulting service, has requested the initial budget set in 2016 of $699,970 be increased to $849,700, plus HST. The requested increase is to cover the costs such as resource recovery reviews and additional plant engineering.
