Charlottetown police lay charges in daytime break and enter

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 55-year-old Charlottetown man has been charged with break and enter for an incident that occurred on Dorchester Street on Monday.

Charlottetown police responded to a break and enter in progress call at 1 p.m. on June 10.

The home owner had returned home to find a man going down a staircase behind the residence.

When confronted, the suspect fled on foot.

Police were able to identify the suspect and locate him a few hours later.

The accused was charged and released with undertaking conditions.

He will appear in provincial court at a later date.
