Charlottetown police charge three people with impaired driving

Charlottetown police responded to several complaints of possible impaired drivers over the weekend, three of which involved collisions and have led to criminal code charges.

A 22-year-old Alliston woman was arrested and charged after driving impaired into a flower bed.

On Nov. 3 at 4:30 a.m., police responded to a complaint of a vehicle “hung up” on a flower bed at the Hillsborough Community Centre.

Upon arrival, police located the vehicle stuck in a flower bed and the driver was arrested and subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

The woman will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 52-year-old Charlottetown woman has been charged with drunk driving.

On Nov. 2 at about 4:30 p.m., police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Kensington Road.

The driver of one of the vehicles displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested.

She was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

No injuries were reported.

A 20-year-old Charlottetown man has been charged with impaired driving.

Nov. 2 at about 10:30 p.m., police responded to a complaint of a vehicle hitting a light pole in a parking lot on the Brackley Point Road.

Police located the vehicle a short time later on Mount Edward Road and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver displayed signs of impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
