Charlottetown police charge several people with impaired driving during December

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Charlottetown police conducted several road safety check points throughout December.

The increased driving enforcement efforts resulted in a number of charges being laid, including:

  • 60 Highway Traffic Act charges and four warnings;
  • Two towed vehicles for outstanding Highway Traffic Act offences;
  • Once charge under the Cannabis Act where the driver was in possession while having care and control of a motor vehicle;
  • A 24-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs.

Police also laid six other impaired driving charges during December.

A 76-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by alcohol at 4:50 p.m. Dec. 6.

A 28-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by alcohol at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 6.

A 26-year-old woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs at 10:40 a.m. Dec. 9.

A 31-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by alcohol at 11:26 a.m. Dec. 15.

A 26-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs at 11:35 p.m. Dec. 19.

A 25-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by alcohol at 10:10 p.m. Dec. 24.
