Charlottetown man faces firearms charges following incident on Kent Street

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 63-year-old Charlottetown man faces firearms-related charges after police responded to a complaint at a business on Kent Street Monday night.

At 10:20 p.m. on June 29, Charlottetown police attended the scene where a patron was reportedly causing a disturbance. 

Attempts to deescalate the situation were unsuccessful.

The man was arrested and has been charged with causing a disturbance, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and unauthorized possession of a firearm.  

The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
