CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 51-year-old Charlottetown man faces charges after police executed a warrant Friday night.
As part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Charlottetown Police Services street crime unit, with the assistance from the uniformed patrol division and the rapid tactical deployment unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a residence on Westridge Crescent at 9 p.m. on Sept 18.
The search resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine and cash.
The man was arrested on scene and taken into custody.
He was on parole at the time and has since had his parole revoked.
He is facing one charge of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused will remain in custody on the parole violation and will appear in court on the new charge at a later date.
