NEW PERTH, P.E.I. — A 44-year-old Charlottetown man is dead after being struck by a vehicle over the weekend.
On Saturday, May 30 at about 11:20 p.m., Kings District RMP responded to a pedestrian-vehicle collision that took place on Route 3 in New Perth.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 73-year-old driver from the Three Rivers area and his female passenger were “shaken up” but did not receive any injuries.
Road conditions were clear at the time.
Montague Fire Department as well as Island EMS attended the scene and the highway was closed for about three and a half hours to allow a collision analyst to conduct an investigation.
The matter is still under investigation.
