CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 50-year-old Charlottetown man faces several firearm-related charges after police responded to an incident outside of a local motel Monday night.
At 9:50 p.m. on March 30, Charlottetown police responded to a complaint of a man yelling and holding a firearm outside of a motel on Brackley Point Road.
Police located the man a short distance away and arrested him without incident.
A handgun was also located and seized.
He has been charged with:
- pointing a firearm,
- possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes,
- possession of a firearm when unauthorised to do so,
- break and enter,
- unlawfully in a dwelling house,
- mischief under $5,000,
- possession of property obtained by crime,
- causing a disturbance, and
- breach of probation.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
