CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 42-year-old Charlottetown man faces charges after police responded to a complaint on Thursday afternoon.

At 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, Charlottetown police responded to the complaint of a disturbance between two men.

Police learned the suspect had asked the complainant to use his cell phone. When he refused the suspect slapped the phone out of his hand and fled the area.

Several police units responded and searched for the suspect who was located a short time later on Grafton Street.

The man was charged with assault and failing to comply with an undertaking.

He was later released with conditions and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
